Halfords' Heroes Homecoming

This weekend saw an emotional homecoming of 300 cyclists returning on landing crafts at Dover. The Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Riders having just spent a week cycling over 360 miles through the French battlefields, raised an amazing £1.2m for Headley Court, the tri-service rehabilitation centre in Surrey.

Among the riders were some of the servicemen and women who lost limbs serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

To conclude the ride, over a thousand riders across Britain met the 300 cyclists on the Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride at Whitehall Place (London) on the 1st June. All cyclists rode to The Cenotaph where the war heroes were commemorated by a two silence. From there, all cyclists then went onto Horse Guards Parade where they were addressed by Chief of General Staff (Head of Army), General Sir Richard Dannatt and Halfords Chairman, Richard Pym.

Halfords is proud to have supported the Help for Heroes Charity and all those who have participated in the Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride. The dedication and determination that these 300 cyclists have shown on the ride has been admirable.
